An article in today’s Houston Chronicle shows how weak and full of shit Senate Republicans are when it comes to repealing the 14th Amendment. Texas Senator John Cornyn, who supported “looking into” the repeal of the 14th Amendment has changed his tune.
Cornyn, the head of the GOP Senate campaign committee, softened his stance while visiting a port of entry along the U.S.-Mexico border. He met with the Texas Border Coalition, a group of local mayors and business leaders focused on border security and traffic backlogs at ports that affect commerce.
I knew this was coming. Republicans, especially those in the Southwest, know that they would not have their seats without the votes of Latino and Mexican American people. Supporting the repeal of the 14th Amendment is political suicide. Apparently that dumbass John Cornyn has realized his folly. . . for now.
